Nizza Monferrato went back to 'Nizza è Barbera', a famous enological karmesse that pays homage to the Barbera d'Asti docg and the Nizza docg. A wine weekend - 12 and 13 May - including tastings, meetings with producers and gastronomic tastings; all immersed in an amphitheater of vineyards, Unesco heritage.
'For two days they returned to live and breathe Barbera - says Simone Nosenzo, mayor of the country. It is an event that grows in the name of quality and is aimed in particular at the new generations: young winemakers who speak to young consumers'. The event, in fact, appealed to the millennials, born between 1980 and the 2000s, with the aim of having fun, but also educating, knowing the roots, the history and the taste of one of the most representative Made in Italy productions. It is precisely in the hills around Nizza Monferrato that Barbera, in the last thirty years, has been able to renew itself expressing a strong personality and identity of the territory.
On Saturday 12 May, the welcome toast, the Barbera forum welcomes the Foro Boario to the 55 producers of the Lower Piedmont who give life to the event, accompanied by tasting tables with the excellences of the Consortiums of Robiola di Roccaverano and of the Salame cotto del Monferrato .
The events continued on Sunday, May 13 with a tasting of the 2012 fine wines 2012 by the producers and the Italian Sommelier Association. To conclude the two days 'in red', a dinner organized by the Barbera d'Asti consortium and the wines of Monferrato, "The versatility of Barbera", led by Sommelier Martina Doglio Cotto where unusual combinations will be presented with fish and dishes of the kitchen Oriental.
